January 28, 2010...a date that I'll remember always. It was the date that the vet broke my heart and confirmed that my sweet, lovable Hamlet did indeed have lymphoma! A few days later, we were at the University of Penn starting chemo treatments and it was revealed that not only did he have lymphoma, he had close to the worst progressed status that was diagnosable.

But we moved ahead and in April, Hammy went into remission. He finished treatment in June and was in full remission until September when I experienced that same heartache all over again. Unfortunately this time, he could not fight it and on the Saturday before Thanksgiving 2010, I had to say good-bye to that sweet little angel.

One in three dogs will be diagnosed with cancer. Of those dogs, 50% will die from the disease. Help me find a cure to this horrible beast and have fun doing it.
